Located on highway 20 at the entry to Grass Valley, the Sierra Motel was established in 1930 and prospered for many years at its prominent location. Highway 20 was then relocated about a mile south where it joined with highway 49 and the motel fell into disrepair due to the lack of traffic exposure. In 2003 the motel was bought by Philip & Ginni Green, who spent truck loads of money and over an year rebuilding the property to a much higher standard than it had ever been. It now boast marble baths and showers, designer decor and a peaceful quiet atmosphere. The name was changed in 2006 to the
SIERRA MOUNTAIN INN to better reflect the high standards the Inn now maintains.
